I normally rant more than praise when I discuss customer service about other companies. But, I must say, T-Mobile Rebate and Bank of America, from today’s experience, provided very good customer service.
Although, I will admit, if T-Mobile didn’t screw up the first time, I wouldn’t have called them. I purchased two Nokia 2610 in June, which came with $30 rebates. I received the rebate for one. Admittedly, it may be because I submitted my rebate in two separate envelopes (I forgot) I still think regardless, T-Mobile should have received my application. I called them up after waiting a few weeks after receiving the first rebate. Within 15 minutes (I do wish it was less) I was able to resolve the issue and T-Mobile will be mailing me my rebate. The customer service rep was very friendly and knowledgeable the entire time.
The rebate card, unlike some others I’ve used (i.e. Sprint) allows you to withdrawal the full amount in cash from any Visa accepting banks. I hate it when I have $.50 on the card and I can’t use it -and I know that Visa, or whoever is profiting.
For Bank of America, I had an overdraft fee. I had some cash stashed in my savings account (accrue the tiny interest that they give me) and wanted to transfer it to another bank (which offered more interest). However, I mistakenly transferred from my checking account. I incurred a $25 overdraft fee. I was coming up with excuses, stories, and pleases to tell the customer service rep. I finally called them, and after some time on hold I spoke to a rep. After barely telling them why I called, he happily said he can take it off (it was my first charge, afterwards the charges are $35) without any hesitation.
I knew most financial institutions have a one time waiver, but they were usually harder to get, or they’d give me a guilt trip. Additionally, I had the rep give my account overdraft protection so if anything like that happens, I will receive a one day $10 transaction fee, rather than $35.
In a short while, I will be calling HP Rebate (for something that’s actually my mistake). I will also rant about a hosting company which I am about to cancel my account with.
